Be the Change you want to see in the world-- Ghandi

My name is Rebecca Hagman-Torkelson. In my life journey I have earned my BA in Social Work, MIM (Masters in International Management), RYT200 (Registered Yoga Teacher 200 level, 2006), and RTT (Registered Thai Therapist, 2007). My focus is working with clients through the healing touch of Nuad Boran a.k.a. Thai Yoga Therapy or Thai Massage, and designing specific yoga programs for an individual’s needs whether it be physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual healing. My years of working as a counselor and knowledge and skill I have gained with my sports and fitness endeavors has transferred over to helping others reach their optimum health as a Holistic Life Coach.
I have been involved in my personal wellness since the age of 14 years old because I wanted to overcome my physical limitations and be able to compete athletically like my peers. Additionally, I understood early on that I desired to have the least environmental impact on this planet as possible (or as they are calling it today- my carbon footprint) so I became a vegan and had to quickly understand proper nutrition and natural remedies for the onset of disease or injury. I believe I have gained sufficient understanding of health and health issues in those 28 years and love to share them with people. By all means, I am no expert! Yet I have experienced and seen excellent results of living a holistic lifestyle for so long.
I have spent my life in service to others in various capacities such as Social Worker, Addictions Counselor, and Micro-Enterprise Development Consultant taking me to live and work in Mexico, Tanzania, Kenya, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua.
I entered the Astanga yoga practice via needing physical therapy for some serious back issues and Fibromyalgia and found it to be absolutely therapeutic and relieving of my symptoms. I am excited to continue the practice and be able to share it along with Thai Yoga Therapy in order to help others reach their optimum health. If we don’t have our health, we cannot be fully the people we are meant to be!
