Description of Classes and Services
Thai Yoga Therapy
Thai Yoga Therapy -- (Nuad Boran) is translated as Thai Massage. This ancient energy-based healing technique goes beyond massage as more of a healing or therapeutic form of bodywork. This method combines assisted yoga poses, acupressure, and reflexology. It comes from the ancient Indian medical practice called Ayurveda. It was further developed in Thailand over 2,000 years ago. Sometimes Nuad Boran is sometimes referred to as "lazy man's yoga" because the practitioner is the one putting the client into yoga poses to stretch and manipulate the body in order to release blocked energy from one's body going beyond what one can do for oneself with his or her yoga practice. The benefits of this practice are:
- relief for pain and muscle tension
- a strengthened and rejuvenated body, mind, and spirit connection
- greater flexibility and range of motion
- improved alignment of the spine
- a general increase of energy
- an opening of the meridians and blocked areas of the body
- greater circulation in the blood and lymph systems
- a balanced nervous system
- deep relaxation
