What does the White Crane symbolize?

The White Crane is a sacred symbol and a symbol of greeting and well wishing.
It symbolizes vitality, endurance, love, peace, faithfulness, prosperity, longevity, and self-contemplation. Cranes use a complex system of behaviors in order to do no harm to others ( ahimsa).

White Cranes are believed to have been present at the birth of the Word of God (Om)
and of the knowledge which mankind has of God. They represent communion with God
and the ability to enter higher states of consciousness ( Samadhi).

This is what a yogi or yogini strives for in his or her regular practice of yoga. It is a lifestyle "off the mat" and not just on the mat. This is what I strive for daily with my thoughts, words, and actions.
